Desktop issues

Hi I hope this is in the right place.
Since 3 days ago (after latest win7 update) I have weird issues with my desktop.
Its completely random wether I can move an icon around or change the position of a browser window. I just wont move, the mouse is fine in all other applications, just not with the desktop.
If I click on the start menu or icon menu they simply flash and disappear
This seems to come and go regardless of programs running or background applications and seems to be random.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Did a quick google and the following seem to be the most successful solutions:

• press esc a couple of times
• open command prompt and type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes and press enter. If windows repairs any files restart
• create a new user and see if the problem persists
• try a different mouse

Which mouse are you using?

Have you tried the latest drivers?

Mouse is sensei raw.
The 'pressing escape a few times' option seems to have done the trick. strange.
