After doing this for my daddy's workplace:

I was wondering do I need any legal permission to make money designing floor plans and house designs?

And I'm looking for a software to design my ideas on a computer, I usually use layout, sketch up and style builder. Any dedicated architectural software? (I want to design houses)

You'll probably find you also require a Architects degree to do anything legitimately, there is so much more to consider like structural stability/weaknesses, materials, building regulations.. the list is endless.

Now why do many people make the statement "I designed my own house"? I want to design my own house (looks and materials) but the floor plan I want to do for events but I need to know is it legal to design I floor plan for an event?

When people say they designed their own house it means they hired an architect and told them what materials, look and so fourth they were going for. Kinda like getting a bespoke tailored suit with the architect being the tailor

Unless the person in question is a qualified architect in which case they wouldve prob designed it themselves

You can design or layout your own floor plan, but you'll need a architect to validate it later.

Do what you what, just think of the people on grand designs?...probably different if your doing it for someone else though.

I want to do my own house, I'm sure no one else want my mad modern houses. I like to design on paper when I'm bored

Uhm... probably but the main topic is that i'm looking for a program to design houses. Taken my pencil designs and do it in a software
