Deleting files, safe or not?

My laptop HD is running out of space and although I deleted a lot of stuff I am stuck now...

So I went to check in the windows directory and I found an hidden directory named installer which contains around 1Gb and I was wondering if I could safely get rid of those files without affecting my system.

no, it contains all the uninstall info about currently installed programs.

Uninstall info takes up a gig ? U installed like masses of stuff on there ??
