Decision time, people!

Okay people! I need to settle this once and for all!

Now, my ex-gf and I broke up a couple of months ago, and she took with her the 52" LCD-TV (Samsung LE52A559, which was hers), and left me with nothing but a 19" LCD-monitor for my PC. :P So I got around to borrow a 26" old-skool TV for my television-viewing, planning to wait for my tax-returns before investing in a new TV. In the mean time I've been saving a few quid whenever I got the chance.

Now, the decision lies in what TV to choose. It will be a Samsung, as it's the best brand there is (all you other fanboys go suck it :P), and I'm going 55" this time.

I've been looking at both LED and LCD, and even though LED is sexy as hell, I don't know if it justifies the bump in price.

The models I've set my mind on are either LE55B650 which is about £2000, or the UE55B7020 at £2500. So, what do you guys think? Is the LED worth it?

I will be using it as my primary PC display, and for TV and Xbox360. I watch a lot of movies (via said PC) and football matches, too. :) Money is not really and issue, but I would like to get what I pay for, and not pay 500 quid extra only for an ultraslim TV and a bit better contrast. :P

If moneys no issue, go for the 2.5k one. will be worth it if your staring at it for god knows how long.

Also.. will the 8800gts run its res well? I cant imaging i would on most games. eg: fallout 3, bioshock, CRYSIS (ofc)

Well ill side with you we have a 52" samsung and a 19" samsung and a lcd 22" samsung. All are excellent , all work fine .

Which ever model you go for im sure that it will suit your needs fine.

Tbh, I don't use my PC for gaming anymore, I've got the X360 for that. ;) I'm getting about £3500 back on taxes this month, and have already saved up £1000, so maybe I'll just have a go at the LED...

Meh, I'm putting PC-upgrades on hold until there's a real reason for me to upgrade. The quad works like a charm for now, but the 8800GTS I think will have to be sent for RMA soon, as I've been experiencing some artifacts recently...

Have to say i am a bit of a sony fanboy but there is no doubt that when it comes to a decent tv Panasonic have things well and truely sussed, even over Samsung. Have a Sony 37" tv and a 22" Samsung monitor both are good but i would easily buy the new panasonic tv's over the new sony or samsung (as nice as the samsung ones do look and as clever as the sony's are)
