Deadpool's opening action scene was powered entirely by NVIDIA hardware by Blur Studios, with rendering speeds that are 15x faster than using CPUs.

GPU rendering, altho very fast for some tasks, for other tasks the good old CPU renderer is more effient and acurate.

Are we surprised using a GPU rendered an entirely CG based scene that much faster? That's fairly common sense

Yeah this headline is a bit misleading. VRay RT is only for pre-visualising a scene. The final scene would've still have to been rendered out purely using CPU's

It's great for quickly setting up a scenes texturing and lighting though. This was one of the main reasons why I went for SLI 980's in my WS
