Darkrock advanced 2500k temps

Morning all,

My 2500k is idling at around 32-36 degrees and after running prime95 for 8 hours the temps get up to around 56 degrees. Looking around i seem to see people claiming they are getting 29 degrees idle with stock cooler. At these temps do you think my cooler has been seated badly or are these temps ok? Would you say i'm at a good point to get a 4.5 overclock??

really dont want to have to reinstall the dark rock advanced it's horrible to do unless you learn to defy gravity

cheers!

air cooled temps are more dependent upon air temp (ambients) than anything, your case will have an impact too but if they was posting those temps in january when its colder and you did it today in summer there will be a difference

yeah i suppose my room can be quite warm. Just worried that based on other posts i've read that i've got bad temps for a non stock cooler.

with an overclock what temp increase would you expect from what i have now

Nothing wrong with your temps what so ever mate. You can get quiet technical when you look at them but my train of thought is that as my CPU dont hit over 65 (with a healthy overclock) then im good. Btw you dont have to run prime for 8 hours lol, 1 hour is fine.
