Danger Den Unveils Liquid Cooling Block for GTX 580

30 to 500 degrees? Wow! What's the coolant? Liquid Helium?

I'm not sure what goes into making a block, but why are they so expensive?? I've been looking at blocks for my 470's for maybe spring time, but at $130 a piece I vomit in my mouth. I guess when you're paying $500+ plus per card for a 580, $140 is a drop in the bucket?

That's less than $10 worth of copper. The expense I'm sure is from the R&D plus the machining, but I still feel it's heavily inflated. I miss the days of cooling a GPU with a $15 blorb

Machining is really expensive. Im sure all of those are cut on a CNC and CNC time is costly. The material cost itself isnt that expensive but R&D and machine time is.

Danger Den are incredible dude. Seriously seriously good.

I suppose you get what you pay for with them?

True. Their attention to detail speaks volumes on their products. I'm just a cheap SOB. $600 or more to watercool everything is a damn nice monitor or a GTX580
