Cutting through noise insulation?

Anyone ever tried this? Considering doing a bit of a mod with a Design Define XL, but I'd like to add a Window, so I'm just wondering if there would be any massive issues with dremelling through the noise insulation that is on the side panels?

I wouldn't advise just cutting straight through it, sounds like a really good way to foul your cutting tool IMO.

Rather strip the foam off (you'll probably need a chisel) first, i know from experience its a right royal pain to do this though

Can't you just take a stanley knife to it to cut through the foam then use the dremel on the metal?

not really as the foam is generally fully glued to the side panel and is a lot harder to remove than you might think, at least it was on my case

No I mean cutting the shape you want in the foam but not actually scraping it off.

I did it with a stanley knife, but I had pieces of foam that were yet to be attached to the side panel... Don't know if it'll work on allready glued on foam, it's probably going to damage the side panel.
