Cutting copper is a *****

God damnit , I gotta figure a way to cut this copper. Hack saw, dremel, C saw, nothing works.

Slab, 1/4" thick. :( Hacksaw just isnt working with a brand new hacksaw. My old one did it though...

Jigsaw was a bit useless, I may try since i tried jigsaw on a 3/4" thick plate. Thats what the hacksaw worked on. And I dont have a grinder.

Can't you get grinder attatchments for dremels? Its been a fair while since i visited a B&Q tho....

Sawzall FTW :D

You can get them used on eBay rather cheap.

Plasma cutter would work wonders, problem is finding one... Take ur stuff around to local shops and see if they'd cut it for ya for cheap cheap.

I doubt whether this would be a viable solution, but you never know

http://www.emachineshop.com. Other avenues you may be able to try Nol; would be using a bandsaw or other mechanical saw fitted with a bimetallic blade suited to the cutting of copper alloys, or industrial engineering firms dealing with alloys use a number of tools to do it:

Shearing

Electrical discharge machining (EDM)

Laser cuttingWater jet cutting

Plasma cutting

Slitting

Guillotining

Abrasive disc cutting

Okay 2 hours inthe basement last night to cut the first slab. Whew. And now I cant braze it. I also decided these caps are way to big and I'll get some smaller ones.

:D Glad you found some use for the link Fraggles, they seem to have a very comprehensive setup. I hope it goes well for you mate:)

Diamond bladed angle grinder tbh, do the job fine, you'll just need some good eye protection and a good pair of gauntlets. Or alternatively, a cutting torch or as Frag says, an Arc (plasma) cutter.

I had a diamond blade on a sawzall trying to cut through .120 DOM tubing. took me an hour or so and i broke about 4 blades and totally wore about 3 of them.

P.S.

SPARKS!
