Okay guys,

I am all benched out - it's official.

Just ran this test once to see how I fare against the multi core or multi CPU guys.

The result? An astonishing score of 2.02!!

Take out the repeat scores above me in this ageing test and I am actually No5 in the world!!

Mixing it with the big guns again!!

TEAM EPUK 4EVA

PS: Nick25 should beat this easy - for the team, do it now!!

Sorry....I`d say U.K., not the world. Fugger? Opp? Pedro? etc If CustomPC had American interest and fair a fair representation of the guys there, then maybe.

Top 5 in the U.K. is still damn good tho :)

Think i`m still squelching away maybe in the top 50, with all the repeat scores/users.

LOL - maybe u can email them the linky?

It is the WorldWideWeb after all?

So in the is golden era of communcation I see no reason why I can't say it's worldwide if it's on a global communcation system.

He say Tongue in cheek and splittitng hairs to look even more impressive :p

The Coach!!

Not much point in doing it now, CPC BTO 3.0 will be released shortly, and BTO is going to be 'something special'

The new BTO benchmark may not favour single threading.

As in the same way it didn't favour AMD?

As in the same unfavourable way that CPC just pulled the plug on the give aways that persuaded so many people to give it a try to start off with?

Or you could put it constructively:

Why not have single/multithreaded league tables? Even split is down further to Intel and AMD single/multi threaded tables?

Why not only allow highest score from each user? or allow a filter to have a looksie?

Put in a decent 3d benchmark to give a much broader spectrum of results?

And have a table that is the highest score in each test, that is to say the highest score from each test will probably be from different people who may not be overall tops!!

Just my thoughts of course!!

Great Score BTW!!

Yes the Video encoding was very biased to Intel processors, mainly because the program was compiled and optomised for the Intel platform. It was also optomised for HT, thats the one application where hyperthreading actually as a major impact.

There has never been a 3d benchmark, and possible never will, if you want to use a 3d benchmark then use one of the main scream ones like 3d Mark.

The table is being changed so only one score can be submitted. There also been talk of breaking the table into multi core/Single core. Partly becuase anyone with a server spec(dual Xeons/opterons) computer could get to the top ten. Although the future of computing isnt going to be single threading, and like most benchmarks it trys to predict not only todays performance but also indicate performance in task and applications which you see more often in the future.

Theres been discussion of only one score per person, and splitting the table into single core/proc and dual core/proc rigs...but its up to CPC to listen. I hope they do.

@Mav... Isnt custompc a co.uk? :p :D

Apart from 3Dmark I think there should be a real-world apps benchmark...that has the same reach as Futuremark.

Synthetics are well and good for leaderboards but the drawbacks are reasonably obvious....My GPU gets ~3K in 3DMark05, and overclocked is just under 4K...but my frame rates in games at the same settings differ by no more than 2FPS....

Sorry Kenny I am confused does a website ending .co.uk mean only people from UK getting access?? :p

Still clutching at straws!!

The Coach

If I said "yes", would it depress you??!? :p

This isnt an anti-American thing, but how many Americans are gonna go looking for overclocking sites with a co.uk at the end? Unless it came up in a Google search, I dont think a lot of them would ever see it. They could indeed access it, but they dont care enough to.

Ooh...thought of this while I was out walkies earlier... Its like saying that Britain is the biggest island in the world...if you only include Britain as a competitor.

Post the link on XS or XR and see the flood....then if your still No.5....yea, you might be onto something. Prob excellent advertising for CPC as well....

Oh...And you`re actually 7th. You hate me now, dont you??

Thats all the ppl in the top 200...only 44 people! *This list was only accurate at time of posting. Do not take this list as the current "whos who" of the CPC benchmarks...*

We`re doing not bad tho.... I have a new target...top 20!!!

P.S...If I`ve missed anyone who is EP, I`m sorry, I dont know all your real names :)

I will have a go when comp is built, and no it still isn't built - having a few teething problems - will explain later...

so im still in 9th place and the hardware i was using is about 11 months old.................. when i first started doing the beat the office was in first place for about 1 year.... only won £200 its a big con what happend to me winning there 3 k pc hmmmmmmmm big con i think....

You`ve never seen CustomPC`s benchmarks???

Audio rip, Video coding and image manip. Download the image file for CD from www.custompc.co.uk. 700MB...may take a bit. I did wonder why I hadnt seen your name anywhere...

You are really better off waiting for the third version of the benchmark, it should be out within the coming months, I would say probally before october at the most.

When that happens the current table is delted anyway.

Also the BTO was dropped from the CPC as there was no changes to the system, since then there has been little movement on the leader table.

LOL....see a league table, must conquer the league table. Thats kinda what its like here.

Anyway...the top 5 has changed...Hassan is back in front, and with the Dual-cores out, there will be a few more changes between now and the new revision.

The thing is, anyone who could afford 8 way Opterons would pwn tbh...

Its not even balanced really... as most people game more than just work... and only hardcore CAD / encoding people would use the type of system that will win :(

True. Multi-core/proc rules here, generally. In the good ol days of dual-proc boards, the EEC memory held back overclocking so the Audio and image scores balanced out the excellent video encoding....now, with dual-core, all the scores can be ludicrously high.
