Just like to share with the OC3D community; built myself a custom carbon fiber road bike with Campagnolo components.
The entire bike cost me approximately $1500 which is very good considering all the components were new except my seat and tyres!

Thank-you very much :)
Custom work is almost always better than pre-assembled stuff and it just has that personalized feel/touch which really makes it the creators own.

I know all too well with all the little things I have done with my car which is a work in progress. There is a thread on here of it somewhere. It is those little things that make that thing unique to you.

And at that price i wouldnt put it on the ground eather lol

That's actually a really good price for a full carbon bike.
If you were to buy something like that straight from a manufacturer you'd be looking at probably more than double the price.

As for the gearing...am I right in saying that's 11 on the back with 2 on the front?

It does look really nice - I'm personally not a massive fan of full carbon on bikes though :)

love the bike you may find its going to be a hard ride carbon is so stiff ive got a fixed with carbon forks very light but i feel every pot hole liveing in london dont help lol looks too nice to ride id hag it up for all to see

$1500 is a SUPER good price for what this bike is and the components it's using. If it were for sale in a bike store it would be worth over $4000

Carbon frames vary enormously. You can get carbon road frames that are made for comfort because apparently it absorbs shock better than aluminium. The wheels also contribute quite a bit to to amount of 'shock' felt and so do the bars and various other components.

Fantastic looking ride you got there, hope you get many hours of fun with it.

Apparently carbon is good at absorbing the high frequency, so you don't get the typical road buzz that you can get with some alu frames that make your hands go numb. I've read that very bad roads with big pot holes though you actually feel more.

I'm currently riding my old steel hack for the winter, with full mudguards. My "good" bike will come out once the weather gets a bit better...
