CSS or BF2: which one to get?

Okay what do you think would be the best choice Battlefield2 or Counter Strike Source? I am pretty much undecided on which one I want to buy knowing that I am looking for multiplayer online gaming mostly?
 
My personal favourite is CSS. Its pretty team-based, but also allows more single player initiative. Its much more "pick up and play" than BF-2, but there are a lot of very good CSS players out there.

BF-2 is HUGE. Its all about big battlefield with players playing together for the win. Your individual efforts do contribute, but the Commander is usually the main man, getting the most kills and calling the shots. Tanks play a big part and air superiority is jkey - one side has a good flyer and you've basically won the map

So there ya go - depends on your choice :)
 
Thanks as I am more interested in man to man combat rather than vehicle based warfare sounds like CSS is more for me. I don't have much experience in online gaming except on Warrock which I started to play recently... And looks like if I buy CSS I also get HL2: deathmatch and and another game about world war 2 which I forgot the name!

Btw is there lots of hackers/cheaters in CSS? I hate that ;)

Hackers are getting les and less frequent in CSS but you do get some - as you do in every online game :(
 
CSS for sure!

CSS is a timeless game which will be huge forever, just like CS 1.6. BF2 is great, but not as great as CSS :)
 
I hate CSS....but that's just my opinion.

I LOVE BF2...but then again I came from playing the original BF1942's Desert Combat mod all the time.

Don't think that BF2 doesn't involve infantry skirmishes...most of the time it is infantry fighting as there's a limited supply of vehicles on the map at one time....When a tank shows up...it just adds the excitement. The Spec Forces expansion pack adds to the fun/tactics as well with Grappling Hooks and Ziplines.
 
Agree totally with kempez's explanation of the ins-n-outs of each game. Both are great games, and both score equal merit in my book...go the whole hog and buy them both, you won't regret it. You could throw Quake 4 in for good measure as well, it's awesome :worship:
 
Well I just came back from the shop and bought CSS. I will see later for BF2 or CoD2. But I also bought FEAR instead of Q4. I haven't finished Q3 yet...

Well I tried to play on the CSS public server 212.69.36.85:27015, but I am always kicked out because my ping exceeds 100... my ping is 304 indeed!
