I keep noticing people saying they have 200fps etc when online on cs-s. I'm just wandering if anyone uses the maxfps setting (I do)

I use maxfps as I did on quake to stop fluctuation in FPS and achieve better movement.

Also there is the fact your monitor will probably be running at 60hz and so will render 60fps.

Limiting the frame rate will reduce the processor load and can be used to work around script bugs causing speed differences and other effects on extremely high frame rates.

I get 332fps on the stress test but have it capped using fps_max

using these settings

fps_max is blocked on zblock servers

Yeah that sucks tbh. They shouldn't restrict it - just prevent ppl from setting it below 50fps or sommit.

I have mine set to 66fps, and when zblock disables that, it screws with my aim.

blocking fps_max outright is pretty dumb tbh :(

they should have a min/max setting so people can't set it below 50 or above 300, like other games do with cvar stuff. Like on quake3 you can set a max and min via punkbuster.

fps_max is there for a purpose, but I guess not everyone knows it's there or why it's there.

That's prob why my aim messes up when I go onto zBlock servers :(
