I'm trying to reinstall crysis but I kepp getting an error message. It seems like it's missing a file, does that mean my disc is damaged or something? I'm pretty confused. Screen shot of the error is attached.

Couldn't agree more, btw, the chicken thing had me laughing for days...

Ensure you have background apps off,

Plenty of rooms available? 12Gb + i think it was

Not on Vista so no UAC problems errrr bit stuck with this one.

Some Crysis forums mention copying file to a file on the desktop but sounds like you could have a corrupt disc

Microsoft knowledge base try them for the 1305 error , might assist.

I have plenty of hard drive space; 80gb free in the internal and about 213gb on the external (stores all my non-Steam games). I emailed EA support about it, but knowing them it could be weeks before they answer. The disc seems fine, no scratches or marks on it. I'm going to try a spare dvd dive to see if it's the drive, it cant read my Battlefield 2142 disc so that may be the problem.

I had a similar problem a while back, it turned out that my IDE connector had damaged pins and therefor my dvd drive didn't function properly. It took me a while to realise this so prob worth checking your connection to mobo.

i just opened my case to clean it and I decided to disconnect and reconnect both of my dvd-drives. I'm just booting it up right now.

Which is why I asked before helping ;).

it finally installed, it seemed that unplugging and replugging my dvd-drives worked. attached photographic proof that I didn't pirate.

:) good man. Not that we didn't believe you, didn't doubt it at all. We won't help pirated software here though.
