Many computers are more powerful than them

I remember when people where saying the 360 and PS3 and gonna be SOOOO much powerful than PCs, and i sat back saying pshhh yea right. I thought Crysis was gonna be released for DX9 first then patched for DX10 later anyways. If thats the case then why should the 360 version be different?

Lets not be too unfair on the ol' 360.

Don't forget that you can't get a top of the range graphics card for the same money as an Xbox360 and the PS3 will drop in price,hopefully.

I hate to look how much I spend keeping my PC's top spec, but it's probably £1500 per year, and I don't spend a fraction compared to some.

Most console stuff is pretty "plug and play" yet I still have new PC software that is a PITA to configure and get running.

Fear EP, has no option for widescreen high res and must be jiggered in the config file to get it to work , I don't get that prob with my Wii.

My consoles and my PC's live together in harmony.

I have been impressed by my mates 360 on his 42" HD TV tho Gears of war is MAD! Mind you i've not played much other than CSS :crazy:

But has the best gameplay..

Xbox360 is running a highly modded version of windows.

This is why they won't get all the power out of the chips. because windows is running in the background all the time.

This is why I believe the PS2 was better then the Xbox because the PS2 uses a bios and not a OS.

But crisis on Xbox will take the specialness away from the PC version.. ;(

I wouldn't exactly say it's stuck in the stone age. The unit itself is the size of a friggin' pc's optical drive and has more rendering power than an Xbox which is a 50lb 1'x1'x6" brick.

A well ported version of Crysis would both look good and play superbly on the Wii.

Guessing you mean PS2's software was built from the ground up where as xbox's was a modified win 2000 kernal

From reading some FAQs for PS2 Linux, it would appear that the PS2 runs a very stripped down Linux kernel.

More on topic, aren't Microsoft releasing a patch to enable DX10, or at least many of its features?

I don't think Crysis will port to the Wii unfortunately and if it did it would be a poor imitation.

The Xbox was actually better as far as looks compared to the PS2, but Sony had the software library; now perhaps the other way around

@Naguru I would imagine that would make sense as the Xenos GPU has unified pipes

ed. My friends 360 lags on Carbon for cripes sake but yet his PC dosent (About 2 years behind in technology compared to 360). I guess it would be like having Farcry on the regular Xbox compared to PC. Not all that great.

Carbon was badly ported imo

I was to believe that Carbon was a console game before PC. I saw it in Best Buy as a 360 game before anything. Saints Row isnt to bad on 360.

I never saw any lag on my 360 when playing at the res the game was meant to be played at (such as GoW @ 1080i) But when I play it on SDTV or my monitor i get a little lag here and there. I think it is caused by it having to down size.

I played it on a regular 27" TV. It lagged during cutscenes and so it made me install the game on my PC so it wouldnt lag. If it wasnt for that i would have borrowed his 360.

On the size front jeeze well it beats the rest...
