haaaaaalooooooooooo!

got a bit of a issue i cant seems to sort out....

my idle temp seems to be creeping up over the past month for unknown reasons!

when i first put it together(about 3 months ago...?) my idle temp used to be 36c+-, now its 41c+-.

i have always made sure my room temp is at 22c(1c up or down....) when i take these readings, and temp taken from 1 meter away PC desk....so i hope that is a trust worthly reading....

spec:-

e6300 @ stock @ 1.24v(asus probe) with apogee

2900xt @ stock with MCW60

NB with MCW30

PA120.3

DDC

10/8 tubing....

i've tried checking for loose block seating(re-seated twice with AS5 and ASC twice), turn PC upside down for airlocks too

but still not sure how come its slowly creeping up.......weird....

any thoughts?

mines done the same.. i think maybe just there abit of extra heat in the air magnified by the components.. you could also have algei growing in the block.. :)

I don't see much change in temp over time, but I have to remove fair mat of fluff from under my 3x120 radiator each month or so, mounted outside the top of my case. Thanks for reminding me of another job that needs doing :(

Dust is a factor as is the degradation of your liquid over time, although yours is only 3 months old... Did you use decent thermal paste?

Is it anything to do with the thermal paste curing and losing a bit of it's thermal conductivity?

I would have thought it would settle after a certain temperature. Keep an eye on it and see how high it goes...

I'm not really sure what is acceptable for C2D :(

I have no problems with temps apart from when my PC is on the floor.. The Rad sucks in soooo much dust. :(

But it can be really good fun blowing the dust out. Can really help temps too. :D

Something is not right here mate. MY q6600 with 1.51v @ 3.5ghz idles around 40...

You are on less than stock volts and stock speeds. You should be as cool as a cucumber.

Reseat your waterblock ensuring it is contacting the CPU properly, also check is the base is flat by placing it on glass - if you can rock it around then it isn't flat.

Change your thermal paste - it might be 'off'. As far as I knew, as5 cures and temps improve... I could be wrong on that one!

I did think that too, but I thought I'd mention it just in case ;)

cheers for the help!

and yeah......i tried all sorts of ways to find out why my idle temps are slowly going up.

i've checked for dusty rad/fans

i've tilt my case upside down left to right many times

i've plugged the DDC Molex to another one incase of bad contact

i've also tried re-seat block with AS5 and ACS, twice....tho AS5 does rise idle temp by 1-2c after re-seat.

also placed CPU block on glass to see if its gone wonky, but it looks fine tho.

hmmmmmm........

say...if my e6300 was concave when new, would it 'cave' more over time?

Out of interest, could you plug the DDC lead into a fan header and tell me what rpm it reads.

Scarlet Infidel may be onto something there... The pump could be faulty, slowly losing RPMs enough to reduce flow rates so that temps rise!

Check your fluid ratio and also change the paste to be sure but dont slap it on its only ment to be 0.88 of a mm on the blocks. Like maty says make sure they are mounted right and give your fans a good clean and hover the rad fins out. Also did you use new fans or old on the rad has the might have droped of the rpm speed to.

Hope this helps

i've just finish taken the block apart and it was all good....no signs of things growing or build ups.

i've almost taken everything apart today for cleaning and check ups, but theres nothing i can spot that give me this problem.

koganinja - my fluid ratio is just de-ionised water with few drops of PT Nuke, and honestly i have no idea how i can get 0.88mm of paste....

blah.....maybe its just a CPU problem....maybe its crawling to its grave

thanks for commenting tho.....cheers
