Creative sues Apple over ipod.

Singapore-based electronics maker Creative Technology said Monday that it has filed two legal actions against Apple Computer, charging the popular iPod infringes on its patented technology.

yea i heard about this a while ago, Creative released their nomad mp3 player almost a year before the first iPod. Apple then went and designed a file managment system near identical to creative's. i cant remember how much of the patent is official and how much is 'itellectual' (or however its spelt). Either way, im backing creative on this one....not that they care lol

I don't know where I stand on this. If Apple has done what Creative says then they should pay for it, if not then oh well. I am not going to side with either even though I dislike everything creative.

Interesting news for sure, and boy I never realised that Apple had so much trouble over patents and copyright with the Ipod,tut tut tut :nono:...thank god I own an iRiver (H10). I guess we'll see the litigation continue on for some time, or until the claimants run out of cash. I mean imagine proving intellectual property issues, in the murky waters of god knows how many portable media devices these days. Man this sounds like the whole Linux vs SCO conundrum!!! Oh well, either way, the lawyers are gonna do well out of this whichever way it goes.
