Hello! I was thinking to upgrade my cpu switching from a Phenom II X4 945 to a 1090T. I've seen it at 152 euros, so selling my old cpu and keeping my system it shouldn't be too expensive. I would buy a cpu cooler too, since actually I have an AMD stock cooler and summer in south of Italy is very hot (I was thinking to buy a Thermalright Archon if it fits into my CM Centurion 590). So it happens that with my stock cooler when I play the Witcher 2 or Shogun Total war 2 the not overclocked X4 945 gets hot (50 or more degrees) and very loud (probably because of the bad AMD cpu cooler).
As you've probably understood the cpu would be for gaming, and I would like to keep it for something like one year or more before changing my whole system. I would like a good future proof cpu. For example when the new video cards line will be out (ati 7xxx or nvidia 6xx) I would like to use the new high end gpu at full power.
The other option would be to wait Bulldozer hoping that Asus will release a bios update for my M4A785TD-M EVO. But I fear that I could wait in vain (there are any hopes for a bios update?). Or should I just wait to change the whole system because with the new cpus could be not worth spending 152 euros on an old cpu? What would you do?
Thanks in advance.
