I've tried lot's, from overclocking my CPU & RAM, playing with timings, etc.

WTCRAP VALVE!?!??!

I'm about to go POSTAL.

Anyone notice that AFTER the last update, performance in CS has gone down? I remember when I got the game it ran beautifully, w/max settings. Seem's like after every update they fuck it up and it run's a little slower.

A computer like mine, shld not be dropping to 20 FPS in all out fire fights in CS. I don't give a flying crap. 3000+ @ 2.2Ghz (NOW), OC/ed HTT, etc, etc.

It's rediculous!? 6800?? WTF? Some member's in my clan who have freakin Northwood P4's in Dell's with 9800PRO's say their game run's fine and never decreases in performance.

Well, they also run @ lower settings. One day, I put my game @ 640x480, and I was STILL getting ~50 FPS. Is this game feckin, it can't be CPU reliant, my CPU wld pull more than that. If it was GFX reliant I'd be getting more than that also!?! WTF VALVE!?!? You're source engine sucks nuts!

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a fix? Anyone have a tweak?

I love the game, but i hate just everything else about it...steam, the crappy updates, the pants interface....it all just stinks.

They need to take a leaf out of the book of some other games like UT - lush interface, reliable updates, fast network gameplay....

Yeah. I just realized something. Start the game up. Before the update my video card fan would speed up to annoying levels, but not too loud. Now, my CPU Fan hauls arse up to full blast! It just started happening after the update. GFX still look amazing so its not software rendering. WTF DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING VALVE!?

I was using the 80.40 Beta, now (thank god for nVidia's archives) I'm back on my favourite set of drivers. 66.93's

ahh fuck ...... that may be due to disk emulation software or ocing r memory too much for css to allow

I have Daemon Tool's runnin in the background and my ram is @ 220MHz 1.5-3-2-5 so...

Thing is, i aint changed shit all on my rig.

I've now re-downloaded the whole of CSS and am still getting the same problem. So i think i'll re-image my machine tonight, and step back to the official nvidia drivers (rather than beta's) to see if that helps.

Does anybody know the name of the nvidia driver cleaning util?

Yeah I use that. Make sure you use it after you've uninstalled the nvidia drivers and use driver cleaner in safe mode

I use Driver Cleaner Pro 1.2.. Driver Cleaner 3.3 is the old one!

XMS I had the 80.40 beta's for a while. Back to the 66.91's or w/e. They work amazing but CSS keeps tellin me to update and im like no eff off lol.

I used 77.71 I think.. Whatever the latest official release is.

Now I use Catalyst 5.7 lol
