Corsair will soon be releasing their latest memory modules in the Dominator Platinum series, rated at 3400MHz at 1.35v with a timing configuration of 16-18-18-40.

Strangely, the kit will arrive in a 4x4 configuration, thats 4 sticks, with 4GB on each module totalling 16GB. Now the strange part of this is that the kit will arrive at $999 which if straight converted over to GBP will mean for us Brits, we'll be paying 660.58 for this 16GB kit.

They do look lovely though, take a look below.

What are your thoughts on these new additions to the Dominator Platinum family? More importantly, what would the Mrs. think if you spent the best part of £700 on these bad boys?

I would have considered them more if it was a serious copper color and the logos would have been the same color, but that is just a one day job with a spray can...

Pig ugly and a waste of money.

I also think it will be hard to find systems where you can run it at 3400mhz.

I use a 3200mhz Corsair Dominator kit in my PC and I think that is getting very close to the limit of what the IMC on the CPU is capable of.

I also don't see the special coolers that come with Dominator Platinum kits of that speed in the pic. I don't use the special coolers on mine as the system is very cool running but if you do use them they are huge in size and people should be aware of this.
