Corsair's "SHIFT" series PSUs are both absurd and amazing!

Looks like this PSU will have to be mounted fan side down. I'll buy one as soon as it becomes available.

All my PSU have been mounted fan side down. Its the logical position given the amount of cases with dust filters below etc.

But I do wonder. With cases that may have limited space between side of the psu and the side case wall, once you plug the connectors in, you may be putting pressure on the connectors with stiff cables.

Could we end up with the connector fiasco of the 4000 series Nvidia cards, but from the other end?

More suited to the dual chamber type cases where the psu fan cutout is on the side door in that usage this would be perfect i think its a great idea surprised its taken this long.

ALL power supplies should be mounted fan side down. That is the proper way and is why there are vents on the bottom of cases under the power supply.

That's not necessarily true. There's nothing internally as far as I know that deems it necessary to mount a PSU a certain way. A PSU can be used as an additional exhaust if you created a build that benefited from it. There are instances in which it might be beneficial to use the PSU to exhaust hot air and not draw cold air in.
