Corsair's Early Custom Water Cooling Prototypes

This could be good news.

Those fittings look very cheap and poorly coated. I can see the brass will be showing through as soon as they are tightened, but hey.. more fittings on the market means more competition so the ones I like to use should hopefully drop in price slightly :D

edit*

I can already see in the photograph how the paint has worn away from them tightening the fittings.

Remember the words "early prototype", these are the issues that should be ironed out before any of these products hit the market. A valid concern though.

There was no pic when I posted.

I like the 90 degs. They look like Bitspower.

Painted fittings are never ideal. Ano is better.

"Prototyping" Aquacomputer components.....

Yup, looks that way. Those are definitely AQ 90 degree fittings, or sourced from the same factory. Bitspower 90s don't have that angled "triangle" look. If all Corsair is going to do is re-brand other fittings, that's crap, why even bother?

Both GPU & CPU blocks are AQ as well. The prototyping in question seems to go as far as some G & N CNC code changes so the engravings read "Corsair."

Though I do wonder who long they will be selling these particular parts now they have former EK staff on the books, once this probable licencing agreemant with AQ ends we will probably see Corsair parts proper.

You do realise Corsair outsource alot of their products and don't make them directly?

ASUS swift monitors aren't even made by ASUS for example.

Aquacomputer and Corsair may have just gone to the same source to get these done. And Bitspower do have the same. If I recall, they were the first to make them. But have since refined their design further.

These will not be Corsair fittings. They will be outsourced, unless they have opened their own fab factory to actually melt down the metals and make them. Which I strongly doubt.

However, looking at them and then looking at Bitspower? well at least they have picked a quality OEM. Alphacool use the same place Phobya do, IE - complete junk.

Ed. They also need to hire a new guy to do their cooling. This area here is about as p****d as a alcoholic in a pub.

Since I can only see an X from work, I will assume you're right. But the old traditional Bitspower 90s (of which I have tons) do not have that triangle design, so I stand by my statement. :p I haven't kept up with Bitspower though, since they're completely overpriced (and overrated in quality terms IMO).

Genuinely excited for this, Corsair moving in a new direction. We just need a Corsair branded Mobo (NZXT Styleee) and we pretty much have everything for a complete Corsair rig.

Yeah it's cool tbh. It will also finally kick Dice in the arse area and make him water cool lmao. He will hate to be left behind in Corsair Land :D

I'm hoping they are readily available too, because a lot of BP stuff isn't any more. I wanted one of those hex res a while ago you can't find them for love nor money :(

Talking of res.. Looking forward to see what Corsair have planned. A sails shaped res would be incredible. Don't like their block much. Made In Germany makes many things look good, but not plastic. I will show a real block when I get home :)

Aren't those just Bitspower adapters with the Corsair logo on it though? And EK fittings, I think.

Also: They're prototypes. Why do you expect paint to stay on during the development process?

It's Corsair. Why even be excited? They haven't made half decent anything since the 650D. Everything else is isn't even theirs.

I'll just move along. If I wanted proper liquid cooling I'd get EK or XSPC products. Not some knockoff brand

Because the days of Watercooling custom as the lowest temps achieved are long gone. Today, its all about aesthetics and that means premium quality finishes. There should be just as much RnD on the aesthetics and finish than there is for performance.

Otherwise, might as well just go AIO solution.

Unless you have a Titan XP or 1080Ti. Then it is more than worth it.

Other than that though? yeah I agree. Most CPUs don't need water cooling at all and then even if they do (like a delidded Intel X299) then a triple will do about as much as any water loop. Sadly we're still not at the stage where there are lots of GPU AIOs. And considering the GPU is the hottest part of the rig you'd think there would be bloody loads now !
