hey guys, i have corsair cmx512-3200c2 memory, bought as a kit for dual chan. i have read on here that someone managed 255mhz with geil brand ram! i cannot seem to overclock this extremely expensive corsair ram at all. no matter what the timings or voltage. it crashes at 215mhz (430mhz effective) right on down, i basically can only have it a few mhz over 200 which i know is wrong, what can i do to fix this. it cant be bad memory. i think it would run stable at 205mhz but who cares because that would only give me an overclock on the cpu of 80mhz over my 3200mhz pressy. err, frustrated, bought additional cooling for overclocking the cpu and seems i cant do it because of my memory,

Raise your timings....a lot.

raised timings alot, from 2-3-3-6 to 3-4-4-8 and still crashes at a 15 mhz overclock on the memory, err. thanks for the suggestion though, does it look like the memory is just not overclocking friendly? could it be cause by something else, the computer crashes and reboots and then it says system has recovered from a serious error and error was cause by a device driver but windows error reporting doesnt know what driver, maybe that will help with some ideas? thanks

LMFAO. Sorry, right now, all I can do is laugh hysterically that you got sucked in by the Corsair name. I'll be back in a half hour with some helpful tech advice. (Including -- Get some G.Skill)

Err, that sucks that the best memory really isnt the best lol, expensive lesson. well what memory do u guys suggest? i have 2 ddr2 dimm slots and 4 ddr slots. ddr2 is more expensive but offers higher native timings. my mobo will support 600mhz dual chan ddr2 or 400mhz ddr ram. what is my best choice for overclocking and are my system crashes defineately the ram? thanks again for being so helpful guys! rep points rep points.

whats your memory's volts at???

if you want to get ddr2 grad some ocz eb 4200 orif you just want ddr grab some of the ocz higher rated stuff like pc-4000+ for the oc potential
