hi guys,

ive got my memory to a good overclock of 800mhz / 4-3-3-10 2t / @2.3v

just wondering, with this type of memory is the 2.3V safe for 24/7 usage??

its the DHX model it comes with its own heatspreader and a heat spreader for the pcb

cheers

2.3V is generally within safe bounds for DDR2, although it's usually advised to ensure that there's some form of airflow in the region of the memory banks but not necessarily directed at them. What voltage did it take to operate the DDR2 at the rated C5 timings? If it's a considerable amount less than 2.3V then you should carry out your own tests and find out if tightening up the memory timings even makes much of a difference in terms of the applications that you use, not benchmark scores.

Be sure to verify the stability of your RAM with a couple of passes in Memtest86+

I run my xms at +.1v

What is its default.

I think that you would be ok.

stress it and see if its too hot to touch.

If that's the case do some testing and see if it's even worth it. Personally I've only noted the difference with tight and loose timings at these frequencies in benchmarks only.
