Corsair teases their MP700 PCIe Gen5 NVMe 2.0 SSD

Impressive speeds. I just wish I had the hardware for the hardware!

Why is your signature picking up my IP address?

Checked via 2 different connections and whilst I believe its only visible to myself, I am curious as to why your signature is picking it up!

Your IP address is not private, every single thing you do on the internet exposes it. Visit a website... exposed, logged, stream music... exposed, logged, watch anything on the internet... exposed, logged.
Even connecting to your ISP. EVERYTHING you do on the internet... exposed and logged.

What my signature is doing is just showing you your IP, no one else can see it. Even I can't see it as I don't log anything. If someone else looks at the signature, all they see is their own IP.

In fact when you connect to a website/server, there's a huge amount of information collected about you.
IP address, MAC address, browser, browser capabilities and version, operating system, your ISP, location and more. It's all logged.

Like I said, only YOU can see the IP in the signature, and like I said, I don't log anything so even I can't see it.

Although you technically didn’t answer the users question… They basically asked why it’s there in your signature. Which is a question I’m asking as well?.

Nah. I'll stick to my superior Samsung NVME 990 Pro drives thanks.

Also please fix the YouTube video as it is clearly listed as private.

I can see the signature, I never said I couldn't. I said I can't see an IP address from someone else.
I can however see my IP address in my signature. Therefore, useful.

Probably because the world and especially the digital world has changed a lot in 12 years…

When I was doing web development, it only took me a few minutes to download and install and get running a library to get your IP address with approximate geo location (not that accurate just general world area)

In fact if you logged in with that "sign in with Google" not only do I get your IP, I also would receive on the backend all your public Google Data with a map in FireBase your geo location within a certain radius of your real life position(I think it was a 20 mile radius I cannot remember). Point is it's incredibly easy to obtain. Whether that Web App you are using (in this case OC3D) is tracking everything about you or not, it's not going to be difficult to do so if they decide they need to.

Keep in mind Google will ONLY release non identifiable data about you so your name and real address are hidden. But the more you fill out in your profile the more people will know. Granted if you get 10,000 site quieres every hour it would be nearly impossible to find a specific person.

Edit: just realized this is a SSD thread, we really should get back on topic.

I'm not questioning it at all, but the question here is that you don't have all of this you just explained, in your signature now, do you?...

I was just simply question why he has an signature that tells you your IP, just find it a bit odd that's all.

Exactly, in fact I used this signature for nearly 12 years. Never has anyone questioned it.

I was curious, as I wasn't sure if it was being seen by yourself or logged etc.

I know technically anyone can see it and it's seen by multiple websites etc per day, it just got me wondering why it was there.

As a side note the site it was showing has a lot of really good stuff in it.

I am just getting started with mixing, bought myself a Pioneer DDJ-FLX4.

It's great having so many resources to be able to go to in order to learn stuff.
