Corsair SPEC Omega Case Review

As someone who absolutely fell for the "Spec-Alpha" and once building in it, experienced so many weird designs with it, all that "love" went away... And this case feels like a lot of those issues are still there in my eyes unfortunately.

No case is ever going to universally loved for it's looks but I for one am glad someone is doing something other than the plain box design with awful airflow that every manufacturer seems so in love with right now.

It's not a bad case. But it's definitely overpriced by some $20-$30. There are far better cases in the $100 price range.

Well im still very happy with my 750d so I dont really get what makes corsair cases crappy, I cant comment on the newer stuff but ive built in this case 4 times now and every time I think maybe I should get myself a new one but nothing on the market really gets my gizzards going.

I'm with you here... I don't blame Corsair at all, they make good products. Now a product will never be 100% to anyone, that's just how everything works in life. But for people to say that their cases are so bad and because it's "Corsair" they would never even consider it?... That is something I don't get, then those people must truly be Case Labs fans ;)

Personally I'm in love with my Dan Case A4 SFX :)

Maybe crappy was a strong word, but they haven't kept up to the competition IMO. Other case makers offer more for your buck, better water cooling support for custom loops, etc. I have fond memories of my 800D though, but it wasn't the most quality piece (flimsy HDD hot swap cages, and a few other flimsy bits).

They used to be the most innovative and definitely best quality. Those days were long ago.

The 500R was a great case but after that it went downhill.

Didn't they release this ages and ages ago without the glass panel?

I quite liked it then, but the novelty has worn off now. Especially with the likes of Inwin and so on around. Corsair need to do something new.

I wouldn't call them crappy. Last generation was epic. Obsidian series, Graphite 760T, 780T are amazing. Build quality is top level.

Problem is that they overlooked things when designing 400C chassis on which all cases are based now. You can barley fit AIO and GPU in the front, and you can't put their own products AIO in the top with their own RGB, or LED memory.

The same is with 570X. You can't fit 280 AIO at the top. And those HDDs at the back are put in backwards so you can see the green PCB trough all that glass.

You can see them changing their mistakes with 500D. More room at the top for AIO, and you can put HDDs the correct way in the back. Even though there is no glass on the back panel. I would call this generation a hiccup. I hope they will get back fast.

I loved my 500R (despite the rubber grommets leaching black all over me and my white cable extensions) but my 460X is probably even better quality. Only negatives are that the RGB's can't be switched off and lights up the whole room. It's ok if you have a dedicated room but in a shared living area it would be a bit balls.

Personally I don't care for the aesthetic of the SPEC Omega but that's just my taste. Some people will probably love it.

I do think the clear option is rather silly given how normally the intent of a clear front is to have RGB fans all lit up.
You can barely see one third of a fan at best, so I think it actually looks better solid.
Though the angular theme seems to be something associated with a "gamer" aesthetic.
Personally I am the opposite, favouring a classy look.
And I don't think that case achieves that.
The Corsair Obsidian cases however do.
