Tired of the same colour offerings but still want a mechanical keyboard? Corsair's K70 RGB is just the ticket.

Nice keyboard! I have an old K90 that is just blue-lit. But it's quality and ease of use makes it a pleasure to use.

Being able to set your own colors is great.

Nice review, although I don't see making a deal with a cherry to only have RGB switches in their Keyboards (for a while at least) as innovative. Very nice KB none the less, is the logo removable/embossed so that a user could get rid of/hide it, doesn't look that good IMO, the old corsair logo and font style was a lot sleeker.

I can't believe what they have done with the branding/logo for these. I understand completely creating a separate and defined brand for esports and peripherals but that logo FML it's rank. If it was somehow pirate or ship related and color neutral maybe but that looks terrible and would never make it to my desk. Unless I feel like mutating a M65 RGB with an M65 i'll probably be looking elsewhere for a new mouse.

Nice keyboard, I'll be waiting until the brown switches are out. Hope they have fixed reliability of the LEDs, I'll be on my 3rd K70 once my replacement comes back from corsair.

Personally i come and am from membrame keys, so these high up key will be something to get used to.
The colors and stuff look nice but there is one thing worrying me:

The obvious red, yellow and green bleeding from the LED's to make a specific color.
In the case above, alle the LED's are on to create white (which i want) but you can clearly see the different colors reflecting on the keys above it.

Is that just in the video or also to be seen with the naked eye?

Why would you buy an RGB keyboard to have the keys white? Surely this defeats the entire point ??

Im personally considering this KB due to the claimed less LED failures.
+Ofcourse the potential and mind blowing customisations you can do on these

Because with "I" i mean me and my g/f who has the purple Corsair case fans in her rig that i want to match in color.

The purple in the video also shows obvious red / blue segments of light reflecting on the keys, that's why i asked ;)

From what I have read, the new software to coincide with this new keyboard is not that user friendly at all.

Corsair have given so much thought in providing many customisation choices in the software that its very overwhelming and saturated with options allowing for a very time consuming experience to achieve your perfect profile. Hence why there are some nice profiles already available to download for those who lack the patience when first setting up the keyboard.

I don't know what to focus on. The incredible, and obviously fantastic, customisation options (and design), or the new "tramp-stamp" logo...

No comments about the long periods of silence that we never hear in standard TTL vids? ;) Tom got awful quiet while trippin' out on the lights. :D

I agree, it looks so out of place and unnecessary.
I wonder if there will be an easy way to change it with the regular Corsair logo. I see Newegg have two versions of the KB, one with and one without the new logo.

To do it nicely you would have to change the entire body of they keyboard with the old one so the logo is nice and as they have very slightly changed some things that probably wouldn't work. (it used to have a selective backlight button). You would also have to be catastrophically mad to totally tear down two new keyboards just to get RGB lights, just stick to the old ones IMO, it's just sad that the mouse to match the black anodized K70 never made it retail.

A couple of perhaps better alternatives for this might be Logitechs' Orion Spark
orion-keyboard.png
It is available now for pre -order. It has a dock for an android device and an app that goes with it to add a new dimension in gaming that goes well beyond the Corsair board. The keys are also much more evenly lit without the harsh hotspot glow the corsair demonstrates.

Another option is the Tesoro Lobera Supreme and is available now.

Either of these has the potential to outperform the Corsair and has far better looks and ergonomics.
