So I updated the BIOS on my p8p67 Deluxe this morning and my Corsair F3 SSD has died is this a coincidence ?? It doesnt show up in bios or anything. Ive tryed it in my laptop and in my friends desktop no cigar nothing. I have contacted Corsair and have started off RMA proceedings anyone have any experience with them regarding RMA's?? As my last RMA experience was terrible albeit with another vendor. Im gutted as I am now gonna have to install windows on my spinpoint and everythings gonna feel so slow again. Not very happy was a crimbo pressie so its only a few months old.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. My Force 3 120 GB just died and would not work on any of my other computers. Luckily I had just backed up the system a few days before it happened. I had a good RMA experience. After receiving my drive they sent out a new drive very fast and I was only without for a few days.

Seems to be a common thing with SSD's - The chips are rated for 10 years but the surrounding components aren't worth their salt. I've personally had 3 SSD's die and they were in different systems in different buildings. Always seem to die the same way as described here, just stop showing up in BIOS one day.

Getting sick of RMA'ing them myself. Good thing I always use the built in Windows 7 backup feature.

Havent you got warranty on it if its a few month old.

Yes mate have warranty thats what an RMA is return merchandise autorisation. I will get another one its just a bloody inconvinience. Some places are better at implementing them than others last one I had to do was a real ball ache. Ignored calls, e-mails and then getting passed from pillar to post explaining the same thing over and over again. Hopefully this one will be plain sailing as Corsair is supposedly renowned for there customer services. We will see
