Corsair brings iCUE support to ASUS Aura Sync Compliant Motherboards - CES 2020

I hope this is done better than what MSI came out with.

MSI have done this with mystic light that overrides iCue and causes a mess.

Just tested on my asus board. It works very well!

Additional that means Z270 ASUS boards are compatible which were not in the list provided.

Typo in the article. You say iCUE can not support it. When it should say now supports it.

This plugin has existed for a while now. But I guess it's finally leaving beta.

Typo fixed. Corsair made a big fuss about it at CES, but as far as we are aware, it is not exiting beta yet.

I'm guessing that they are making it more public not to get more people to test it. That, and because they are probably more confident in the feature than they were previously.

Most likely, it was very very early stages probably an Alpha and this release is probably a public/open beta. I found out about it at the start of Nov iirc. You could download it and use it but very buggy. It was on their forums and an actual Corsair employee was in the discussion. Now, which thread was it? Yeah, I have no idea :p

I'm glad too because I have corsair stuff and an Asus motherboard. Only issue I have is the Asus RGB software is truly awful. Had so many system issues when I got it originally. Removed and fixed all my system problems. Hopefully it's not as bad now...

Draw back I believe is you need the ASUS software installed still.. I think. I had to install it for the mobo to show up in icue. Even though I had the plugin setup

It needs to be installed, but it doesn't need to be running. the iCUE plugin probably uses some of its files.

As he mentioned above needs to be installed.

I was just referring to the Asus software being awful and brought it up because it needs to be installed. Sorry for confusion ^_^

And I stand corrected. Asus Aura software is still crap.

Can't even install it without freezing the computer. It's gotten worse than before. At least last time it would install them freeze. Now it's just ruined my whole system. So bad that trying to uninstall it Windows throws a catastrophic error.

Well since my last post, iCUE freezes immensley bad when trying to open. And randomly recognises 2 of 4 devices. It never sees mouse/keyboard/case/mobo

Its always randomly 2 devices.

Curiosity messed it up for me.

Same boat as you. Since trying to do anything with Plugins iCue just totally forgets what it's supposed to do. I'd reinstall it but just installing it the first time was a right pain in the *.

reinstalling didnt work. ITs really F***** up iCUE... WHY OH WHY did i bother for something that never interested me in the first place.

On a side note... I got Icue working with Division 2 and RGB aside.. the reactive lighting was really cool! :)

I'm so hesitant to change anything in iCUE when it's working. On my last rig I had an issue where after any reboot I'd have to import my settings again. I also had an issue where I'd have to click on each mouse button in iCUE before they'd actually work as assigned.
