Hello OC3D forummembers!
Today I was browsing a store and came across a really tempting deal. I saw the Silverstone Strider Gold 1200 Watt PSU for €10 (£7,86) less than the AX850 PSU. Should I get this one or the AX850 anyway?

Thanks!

EDIT: The Strider is the 80+ Gold version

No point putting 3 7950's in Crossfire. As james said anything over 2 is unnoticeable in games, 3 7950's will give around 1 or 2 FPS higher than 2 of them in pretty much all games.

Also, 2 stock 670's are just less than 1000 points behind 3 stock 7950's in 3D Mark 11 P Score, and if you got 2 Asus DCii 670's that would be a much cooler, quieter, efficient and sensible set up. Plus you could overclock them to be as fast as 3 7950's if not faster as the Asus cards are great overclockers too

I know. I might go for triple monitor gaming in the future. :)

Just go for the 850W or even 750W Strider Gold, they all offer 100W headroom on top too. My Strider has been good so far, its also very quiet too.

Yup, go with the Strider if it's cheaper. They're awesome PSU's, built like tanks and the Evolution versions have the Air Penetrator fan too so they're dead quiet

I say Strider, if it's less than why not. Also, PSUs are their most efficient at approximately 50% load, so if you're using way less than 1200W, that'll be more efficient.

But is the Strider as reliable as the AX850? The AX850 has 7 years warranty which is pretty awesome :D. Also I think the AX850 looks better. But the Strider has a lot more wattage for less. Dilemma :P

Dude, Silverstones customer service is awesome. I'v sent them e-mails and they have responded within the day and sorted my issue out. Looks wise, they are both black boxes! lol. The ripple paint on the Strider is nice though.
