Hey guys,

A quick question for you... can the 5.25" optical bay in the top, where you usually put like an bay reservoir or DVD reader, can it be removed or is it solid in the case?.

Thanks,
Chrazey

Cool, thanks for the info.

A question for you guys, what would you personally do?... Remove the optical bay or keep it in?. As the Corsair support said that it might loose it's stablity integrity if removed:

Thanks!

My brother had hs removed and the stability was alright with the panels off, with the panels on its like normal.

We are talking about the optical bay, in the top right corner of the image, where you normally install a DVD or Bay reservoir, yes?... And not the HDD cage, just to clarify?.

How did he remove his, if I may ask?...

if its like the 900D you will lose some rigidity of the case when the side panels are off but should be ok when they are on. "should be" is often a dangerous term though.

You just drill the rivets out matey - but all cases are different tbh. Ive cut some out before because they can be attached to the front panel.

Youre either going to have to have a proper look yourself and stop acting like youre a girl (hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa) or post some pictures so the real men can help you out.

Meh I left mine in, although I have the 450D, didn't really see a need to remove it as the H100i fits perfectly. totally up to you though, the 350 isn't that big that rigidity would be compromised all that much.

EDIT: as pointed out by Tom their are 4 rivets hiding behind the front panel as well as the rivets left and right in the side panel tracks.

Yah, as far as I could see, it looked like either being attached to the front panel or even being solid to it. Couldn't properly tell though.

And how am I suppose to show a picture?, and of what exactly lol?... How it's attached or what?...

So you're saying you're one of the real men they ey?... always find you a bit girly to be honest Tom ;)

Yah that is true... although doesn't look all that pretty with the window on, imo.

Guessing you mean that due to the case not being big, the rigidity won't be affected that much?.

Okay, gonna check those out and see, regarding those 4 rivets on the front part...

there are just some rivets and that's it, just get a small drill (or screwdriver if you're brave) and drill them out

Or you could just put a plain black cover over the bays, so they dont look as bad. I assume you are doing this for aesthetic reasons?

Yup, you are correct sir. All looks regarding this "issue"... since I don't really use DVD or so these days, it looks a bit out of place in my opinion.

Alright, well I you decide not to do any drilling, some black panels over the bays would look pretty decent. Maybe even get Coldzero to cut/print out a Corsair logo on a "sideplate" for the bays. I'm sure they would do that for you ;)
