Wanting to get rid of the stock heatsink and looking for best preforming alternative.

Ideas?

I have a couple from Ham in a PM but want everyone who read's this' input.

Swiftech 'hunck of copper' nb cooler... Jim, you have one what's the model? It's small...

One sec...

Thats the one :oc3d: get 10% off too, I'm UK based and have ordered from them with no problems

I think ST/Tekheads stock it too... Also the enzotech nb cooler is artwork, similar to the swifty too...

There could be a slight problem... Not sure what I can get to fit due to my Arctic Cooling F7P

not a problem the SLI version has the tower offset.

i would too, rercommend swiftech NB sink...like Mr. Smith has said, its just a big lump of copper

-----off topic-----

Mr. Smith.....you still running a asus commando? if so......does your NB get pretty warm? with what kind of cooling? cheers

I looked at that too... Thing is that sits at an angle which still doesn't help that much.

Ok i've just found this image which is perfect as its using my hs+f and also the HR-05 Sli and it fits... Just... I don't like the idea of that fan on the side of it blowing air onto the back of the gfx card... Is it still good used as a passive without the optional fan?

Ok so now i've turned my hs+f so the heat will be blowing out the back of my case rather then the top I think i can fit the standard HR-05 and possibly a thin fan.

noctua nc-u6 fits with a scythe ninja fine

it will also fit the sb with a gtx

So the NC-U6 or the HR-05??

That is the question...

Any cheapo solutions for a SB cooler?

The southbrige bearly get warm. The HS i had on there never went above about 23°C, room temp was like 22.5...

Fair nuff.. if you reckon its really not worth it then that coupled with the hassle it would cause the cabling I shant bother.

Ta muchly!

i had a stick on sb cooler for a while then onc ei got watercooling it was a shame not to use the noctua lthough the stickon sb cooler worked fine
