Coolbits OC

Iv been ocing with coolbits, alot better than anyother program. Yet whenever i oc, my OC isnt consistent. the fps in stress test keeps dropping by 1-2 fps.

Also, when i click to save these settings for startup, and i do stress test, the fps is the same as NOT OC results.

All of this is with settings below the Optimal Frequencies.

any ideas would be amazing!

I would use Rivatuner! :D

It uses the Coolbits registy key to OC the card, but you may find it is more effective when saving the Clocks! :worship:

i have also tried riva tuner, and ATI tool. both of them show more loss in fps.

i dont understand though, why would i be losing fps? when u oc, isnt it set? should ur clocks stay what they are? its like that for my cpu if i oc that, and that is also with a program.

ATI tools doesn't use the Coolbits reg key... It makes a new driver called (ATI tool)! ;)

Sometimes if you OC too far the FPS go down, this is rare I believe as I have only had this problem once.

Are you saying that its not saving the clocks or its just not performing under those clocks? :)

im not sure if its saving or not. but here are 2 scenarios

i play css wit oc'ed settings i get 90fps. i do the test 2-3 times, 90/89.78/88.65

slightly dropping

then i do company of heros, 56/55/54

also dropping results,

then i go back to css and sometimes its 70 fps, and sometimes its 82. its all over the place!

and when i do the load clocks at startup, and i do stress tests, the results are the same as if it aint oc'ed

btw thanks for very fast responses!

(off topic queestion, how come i cant click "View My sig" on some people?)

Answer to off topic question: Have to post 30 post before able to use the forums to the full. ;)

And I haven't a clue whats going on with your Overclocking but I would say ether the driver is in some way a bit dodgy, Or theres a conflict between Coolbits and ATI tool?

alright thanks, should i uninstall ati tool? cuz i only use it to test for artifacts, and to see what my fps is in that little spinning square thing :P

if i run it OC'ed, reboot, it depends, if i have the oc startup with my computer, it goes down. but if i manually set the oc everytime my computer turns on it goes fine. but then after each game i play and exit. it drops a bit by bit by bit

sry for double post

Just maybe its overheating?

Check your temps! I think Nvidia have a thermale thottel on their GPUS..?;)

Check, Just in case!

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!

ill try with some lower clocks, too see if it happens, so i use riva tuner correct?

i have tried 430/1050, 420/1075, im gonna try 410/1040
