Coolant suggestions

Hi,

I'm looking to buy coolant, and have no idea which is the best to get.

I'd like it to be blue, preferably a pale shade of blue to a deep one, but that's not a huge concern.
Also, I'm not sure about putting any treatments in the coolant? Not sure if I really have to do that or what...

Any suggestions?
Thanks :)

I personally use mayhems pre-mixed coolants. There's a useful guide here of what they do.

It is also pretty easy to make your own coolant. All you need is distilled water, a corrosive inhibitor and an anti-fungal agent (either a liquid or kill coil). You can also add a dye to get the colour you want. All of those things are available from companies such as Mayhems.

Yea they are both premixes so they have all the biocides and anti-corrosive agents in them already. You just need to pour it in and away you go.

I've actually got that blue X1 premix so I can confirm it is excellent :P

The aurora coolant is slightly different - it's designed for showcasing and includes particles in suspension which looks pretty but has major downsides. Have a scan of the wiki to see more.

I'd recommend X1 or the pastel range.

If you want blue you have some options with mayhems coolants and dye:

x1 blue
pastel blue

or

x1 clear + blue dye for a lighter blue
x1 clear + blue and purple dye for a darker blue
pastel white + blue dye for sky blue
pastel white + blue and purple dye for royal/darker blue.

Pastel takes an absolute craptonne of dye to change the colour though.

For aurora to be viable you need:
-epic flow rate.
-low restriction blocks
-no filters
-compatible res and pump (I would say D5 suspended below a tube res (with the single fillport at the bottom so that the pearl doesn't collect in the res bottom too much)
-lighting to reflect off the pearls
-clean the blocks and replace the coolant often.

..not really worth it imo.

Thanks for the replies.

I've ordered the X1 - along with pretty much all the other watercooling stuff.
Just need to decide whether to put a GPU under too.
Thanks again.
