i cant get 100% contact of evaporator head with cpu with for P4 kit, no matter what combination. best i can do is to leave about 5mm uncovered along 2 sides of the cpu. is this norm?

do you get a good contact when you just attach the head to the cpu without any string? if you do then just use 1 layer of string.

my temps idle is -23, load 1 is that ok? btw with motherboard monitor

Assuming you mean that its just not sat squarely with the CPU (as opposed to not being flatly on it), I have this 'problem' too....it's perfectly normal, I don't think there's a single Mach cooled P4 system out there in which the copper plate on the evap head sits perfectly square with the processor's heatspreader.

Even with the innacuracies inherent to alot of mobo temp probes (as chiyau pointed out), you still have some nice temps there, so it's obviously not something you need to worry about too much.
