It's true to say that all this does make you wonder what the future will bring.

Conroe is an amazing chip and if Nvidia allow Intel chipsets to officially run SLI the there's nothing to stop people upgrading - that or Nvidia release a chipset that's very Intel friendly (maybe Nvida southbridge and ULI northbridge).

nvidia already own uli and support it on the website so there would be no problems there

it just seems to me that the top brass @ nvidia dont get on so well with intel for what ever reason

i guess it will take sales to drop off for nvidia to eat pie

conroe has made my 57 worth less it is so much faster than anything amd

have that there is now no other choice but conroe

unless nvidia are waiting for the next release of amd chips with there new core but from where i am sitting i think amd have just been court napping

to think with just one release of a chip from intel sp 1m has been crushed

Damn, I really hope AMD have got something up their Sleeves for this year other than the disappointing “AM2” Platform.

I’m not sure if I should invest in a new 939 motherboard , RAM and processor, or go for a LGA775 setup. From the looks of things now, the latter is Cheaper… and faster.

Lowdown is that Conroe is the CPU to have if you want to bum 4 Nividas all @ once and have a screen full.

As Nivida has said, no cpu out there now is powerfull enough...erm thats AMD only there talking about as it's only just that a chipset for Nivida and Intel has acome of age so there ya go.

Conroe is amazing, all i have to say on tut matter and power and heatwise it'd keep me granny happy

For those that need to upgrade this year - Conroe is king, it will be disappointing if the Nvidia chipset for Conroe is as bad (or worse) as their first Intel chipset - embarassing even. Disappointing on a personal level as it will mean if I want conroe and multi GPU I will need to switch to either 7950 Gx2 or X1900XTX
