Computer makers seek to banish boot-up blues

In the time it takes your computer to boot up, you can probably make some toast or a cup of tea before the thing is ready to use. In the near future, you might only have enough time to take a sip of that tea or check your watch.

Eh ? Dunno about u guys, but I think all mine take seconds. Perhaps they should look into removing all their OEM package crap at boot time.

Am I the only one who would rather wait an extra 10-20 seconds on boot than have the machine crash at a crucial time, just because the bios didn't check the ram properly...

Mine takes like 30 seconds to a usable internet session...and that's with Vista needing a re-install desperately
