Competition Ideas

OK Guys / Gals, we all know that chance is great for those who win, but lets see your ideas for a competition where not only chance is the factor, and where a bit of effort or skill is involved.

Perhaps after enough good ideas for a competition (hopefully fun ones) are gathered a poll will be set and we will have forum picked competitions.

Talk about interactive or what.

^^I think its great and know that EQUK mentioned something similar, Some of the skills on here are great so perhaps you could even it out a bit by making it knives only.

What about OC3D CS:S gaming ladder or similar

Would deffinately bring more people to the site (& the servers). Esp if people think they can win a gfx card etc. Altho you'd need some admins and a lot of organisation.

I agree a little with the best case thing that maybe people who have a brilliant case might be rich, but some people spend loads on their PC's without being rich.

I know some people upgrade once every 2or3 years (my last system was over 3years old)

Have OC3D ever done a competition based on skill rather than luck?

something like the best modded case or the best howto or the best project log etc

maybe the active people on the forum would have a chance then

High latencies for people in other countries and managine hackers would cause a problem imo.

Just make a demo using sourcetv for every official match and setup cvar protection etc.

You could say about cheaters for any game tournament appart from LANs.

Altho for the next compo, you could have it at a LAN?

I also hate the way people call cheaters hackers.

They probably haven't hacked anything in their life and are probably 13year olds who just downloaded the latest cheat to use.

I know there is already a thread somewhere about having a LAN in the UK not sure if anyone has decided on where to hold it yet tho. Or even when.

Didnt Swindon get a mention? that helps the guys in wales a bit. and is easily accessible from elsewhere too, except bleeding norfolk.
