COD Ghosts Issues.....

Okay people, I'm in need of some advice.....

I was bored of being owned on BF4 the other night so decided to buy COD Ghosts, as it was £28 and I wanted to play Infinity Wards new instalment, as all of the M.W. trilogy were awesome.

BUT...... and here's my problem, although the game play is smooth and without issue, I'm missing half the story from the cinematic loading screens between levels, as it stutters, and jumps all over the place.

Sound is as jumpy as the display during loading, any ideas or tweaks to make it run/play smooth???

What are you system specs?
Have you 'verified integrity of game cache' through steam?
(In the library on Steam.......Right Click > Properties > Local Files > Verify)

Hi Mathius,

The Full Specs:
AMD FX 8350
16GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1866Mhz
Asus Formula V
2 x Asus 7970 HD Direct CU II's @ 1000gpu / 1400mem (1 Top / 1 Normal)
Corsair HX1050 PSU
Corsair Force 3 SSD
2.5" WD Scorpio Black HDD
Asus Xonar DG 5.1
Corsair T600 Graphite (in white)
3 x LG LED IPS Monitors

I will try the verification and get back to you.

I can understand there being a need for a day0 patch for Sli/XFire but to have the issues it has (flickering objects is a big one) this long after launch is pretty shit. Especially on a title which has faked such high minimum/recommended specs. You'd have thought they'd have tested it with SLi at least ONCE! right?

Nope, GIVE US YOUR MONEY!

Its certainly not your specs that is at fault...

Does the same happen if you use a single monitor?

It only works on 1 monitor, no Eyefinity support!

Sounds like what I got from BF3 at launch a few years ago.

I never had any issues with BF3 on launch, the system was similar with 6970's in crossfire.

Turn crossfire off.

Will try this..

Had just read about Ghosts failing pretty hard when running Crossfire/SLI.....
You'd have thought by now these sort of games would be sorted for dual/triple cards.....

Console Ports, games aren't developed for PC enthusiasts anymore. :(

I'm having the same probs with the inbetween level cutscenes, sound is so low I can't hear what is being said.
Overlays like FRAPS, Radeonpro and afterburner etc can cause stuttering in Ghosts so if you have any of those running try disabling them. Also try changing the priority level of the CoD Ghosts.exe from high to normal in task manager. It's set to high as default for some reason and can cause stuttering.

I have no idea what the audio problem is and how to fix it though. Only thing I haven't tried is changing my audio settings to Stereo, maybe it's a surround sound prob?

Hi SieB,

I run afterburner but all overlays are disabled, I did read a thread on the tweaks you mentioned, but none of them improved the performance.

The CPU priority made no difference either, going to try disabling Crossfire in a bit see if that makes any difference.

The sound issue you have I had a similar issue, background sounds were louder than speech etc So I changed from Dolby to Direct 6 channel and it improved it no end.

Okay guys,

So I have tried it all and nothing made a difference.... I also tried to play Multiplayer this evening and that was a shockingly bad experience..... Completely unplayable!

It's hard being a PC enthusiast when you build a high end gaming machine, and the games of today just do not run properly on them.... It's like I have wasted all my hard earned cash when I should of just waited and pre-ordered a new Xbox One or PS4.

:( SAD TIMES !

I bought Ghosts last night, but for the PS3 because I wasn't running the risk of spending £40 on an unplayable game, plus I'm more comfortable with the PS3 controller now than mouse/keyboard. I was tired of getting whooped on BF4. Really like Ghosts so far, my best was something like 15k/13d last night, tried the first couple of missions on the campaign too, very nice!

Edit: I also noticed a glitch-the match begins timer counted down, away we go and an enemy was in between us all, but we could kill him and he couldn't kill us...he managed to get me though when he shot a red barrel next to me!

Is this the only Ghosts thread now?

Ah well some new info, patch removes 6GB needed for game and is now 4GB.
