What colour slot is your GPU in mate, and what mobo is it?

I think tiny has a point looks as if you're GPU into a slower laned slot... i'd move it up to the highest free Pci-E slot... besides that thats one nice rig what cooler you using for you're CPU and when did you build this monster?!

Surprised you didn't buy a HD 4870 instead of the 9800GTX and if you added a couple extra quid to that rig you could have gone for the i7... Have you moved you're GPU yet?

The I7 is not for me YET i had the Q6600 on my dell XPS420 so i teak that out lol and the Cd DVD ram out and i said now im go to go lol u know :nono:

Your gpu was in an 8x lane before, now you moved it its in a 16x lane so double the bandwith.
The 4870 is actualy MUCH faster than the 9800, the 4870 also beats the 260 in alot of benches.
Even Im not going i7 yet, its just not worth it till the new revisions are out and the prices come down.
you only need a good dual core for gaming, unless you transcode alot or bench thats when you need a quad.
Ive only got a e8600, but my 600fsb will kill any quad in a game.

I agree with Tiny the HD4870 would kick the 9800GTXs ass which is why i recommended it lol i dont say things for the fun of it

Actualy mate its a well known fact dual cores game better becuase of the higher fsb.
You only need a quad for benches, I sold my qx9770 and got a e8600 instead.
My fps went up.... but my 3d06 went down.

Still waiting for you tiny! lol and what you going to do in half a year when games become Quad-Enabled? and then HT enabled? then what! and can i point out an increase from 50FPS to 54FPS really doesnt make a difference!
The games are going to take a good while mate, and i7 cant be used proiperly till windows 7 is fully released.
You dont need to spend loads to spend smart.
At the moment smart buying IS dual core still.
This guy wants a rig on a budget, dont give him a personal wish list actualy look what he was asking and his budget.
