Heey guy's, just 5 min ago a made a profile on this forum and i have a worklog to show you. It's already in progress for some months sow below i'll make a summary of the work log.

Heey fellas,
sow my first buildlog. First off, don't expect a update every day. I work shifts in a steel plant sow my time is very limited.
Second, the idea for this build. I needed a new case for my htpc. The system is in a Fractal Design Core 1000 now.
And for my new toy i wanted something special. Everywhere i look on forums people always try to show as little cable is possible, in another words, cablemanagement.
I thought i would take it to another level, hence the name "Clean Build"
Now the outside of the case isn't going to be afffected much other than a nice paintjob. The inside is where it all happends.
Now, the case i will be working with. Since it has to hold alot of hdd's is though, maybe a servercase. Naaah not enough room. Then a bigtower, naaah toooo ........ "standard"
Then i saw a case for sale on Netherlands biggest secondhand website for pc parts. It may be the biggest cube case out there, not taking in the monster Caselabs cube.
It's a Yeong Yang YY-0420.
Probably one of the biggest cases i've worked on. And i had a 800D......
Like i said the ouside isn't going to be affected much. I have a color in mind to go with the mobo i want/have.
It is a metallic blue with a little sparkle in it.

Sow far so good, this is the first intro to my casemod.
Like i said, its for my htpc, so don't expect to find high-end hardware in this one.
Just a guy trying to make a nice casemod.

Next update.......
Got started on the case today. I was in bed at about 7 after the nightshift, but i couldn't sleep. I wanted to get going on the case. Maybe it will be done by the time my clan has the lan (sept).
First i started to dremel out the fanguards, nothing worse then to see those fugly things + im going to put wire fanguards all around.
Then, I took a shot at making a window. I tried to make it as big as possible. But to make it look better I used the same distance on the left side of the vents that is on the right side.
Imo it looks better then just doing the window anywhere.
As the build is called "Clean Build" i'm going to make alu plates to go on the inside. At least the tray and bottom. I'm not sure what i'm gonna do to the front. If i put a cover there, i probably have to put in fans on the bottom for airflow.
Thinking i'm gonna do a modders mesh plate there, so it looks clean when it's painted, but i can use the airflow of the front fans.
Here is the template for the tray section.
My inittial thought was to use rivets to secure the alu plates inside the case. Then my dad mentioned there is stuff to glue it. After looking it up in the local hardware store I found this.
That's all for now. Next up is a fanhole on the top, where the cpu cooler will be. And the making of the first alu plate. Till next time.

Small update.....
Today i went to work on the first alu panel. With the carboard template it was easy. Alot easier then the way i used to do it, with normal paper.....
Still have to make the holes for the motherboard standoffs, but that will come tommorow.
Next i did a little work at the front. Drilled out all the holes in the doors and bay covers for airflow and looks.
Next up,
the bottom alu panel and mesh panel. After that i have to wait for the motherboard.

Very small update....
Finished the bottom alu plate. Its already glue'd in, then i saw it was a bit to large. But nothing the Dremel won't fix. Also because of the mesh panel that's gonna be there, you'll hardly notice.
Don't mind the scuff marks, before painting i'm gonna sand and sandblast the case at my work

Hardware update.....
Just wanted to show what will be in the case when it's done.
Old parts i will take from the old htpc :
- Corsair CX430
- OCZ 60Gb ssd + hdd's
- Corsair 8Gb XMS3 DDR3-1600
New parts that i got second hand :
- Asus P8P67 (rev3.0)
- Intel i3-3220 (got it cheap, only 2 weeks old, 50% of normal price)
- Sapphire HD4670 Silent
- dvd player (later to be upgraded to bluray)
Only thing that i don't have is a cpu cooler. Sow the stock Intel cooler will do for now.
When i will upgrade it, it will probably be a closed loop watercooler. Maybe something like a H60 or H80.
I was planning on doing a "moddermesh" on the vertical midplate. But when i was going to buy it, it was 4x the price of a normal sheet of alu.
That really isnt in the budget. Sow my drill is going to make overtime, because i will make a mesh myself

Small update...
Almost finised with the mesh panel. Still have to take the burrs of and jigsaw it to size.
But one question, with all the drilling and centre punshing it worped a bit.
How do i straiten it out again? Put it between to pieces of wood and clamp it for a couple of days. Or put some mild heat to it?
Anybody any ideas?

Update....
well, after about a hour i got back to the tech guy's. And they tried what they could. But it still wasnt straight enough.
Sow, i decided that it was ok to spend a little bit more on this case.
Got myself a sheet of perforrated alu. Only had to make it fit inside the case and i was done in about 1 hour
I also orderd some Kingston ram that i can pickup tommorow. Then we will see if that will work with the motherboard.
Just a couple of pics, how the mesh turned out.
Still thinking about if i should drill out the squares. But i'm worried i'll bend it to much again.
Have to wait and see.

Next Update....
made the perforated piece again, just now i made i a bit longer and bended it to the front.
Seems to be nicer with the sidepanel on.
Also made a start on the motherboard. Finished the soldering for the 24pin and 8pin EPS. Now only the on/off and reset remain.
The holes that go in the motherboard arn't cut yet. First gonna try the motherboard. IF it still works, the holes are next on the list.
YES i know, the glue looks bad. But with my soldering skills it's neccessary to have some extra insurance
Next up...
making the holes for the motherboard tray and doing some small stuff before i can sandblast it.

it still works. Still have to do the on/off & reset. But just wanted to try it out.
However, now when i see the whole board together i don't like the ram.
It's more purple then blue. Not like the Corsair one's. Sow i think i'll put the ram for sale and when it sells the
Corsair's will go in.

And trying to figure out how the Chieftec hdd bays pull apart.
The painting of the case isn't rocket sience but the bays will be painted too and thats a pain in the a*s.

Sooow, i'm back from holiday. It was a rainy holiday but i caught some nice fish
In the next couple of days i'm getting the new Dremel to finish up the holes.
In the mean while i'm thinking about the cpu cooling solution i'm gonna do.
In my main rig i have a H100. I really want to put that one in.
Then in the main rig will go a H100i. Now for the H100.
I don't like the big wire hanging of it and the 4pin molex that powers it.
It also has a single lead for monitering the pump speed.
Is there a way to solder a simpel 3pin fanheader on it.
Witch wires should i put where on the 3pin.
3pin fanheaders also use 12V so it should run the pump just fine.
Any ideas??

for the most part IT'S DONE. Finnally i got the holes done. Although there is still some work too it.
I really thoought i marked the 8pin hole the right way. But sadly it's a bit to big.
Nothing a little metal epoxi won't cure.

Now, i do need some info.
My mobo has 8 sata ports but my setup requires 9.
SSD, Bluray and 2 Chieftec hhd bays with 3/4 drives.
I could go for a raid card. But that would mean more holes and more sata wires in the case.
I think i'm just gonna ditch the hdd bays and go for max 6 storage drives.
What do you guy's think.

Obviously the sata cables are the wrong colour and the cable management is a mess at the back.
But it gives u a idea how clean the inside will be.
Fans installed where the H100 will come. But my wallet isn't big enough just yet. The H100 will probably go in in december. Then i get my bonus from work ^_^

Didn't have alot of time, sow i only did the parts that are hard to do with a sander or sandpaper. The rest i'll do at home.
