My guess is that Cities Skylines 2 is coming and that they want the newsletter to reach as many as possible.

When parklife is worth about £12 normally, it's a worthwhile trade.

Wow, you're hilariously good at sarcasm. I almost laughed.

Making you go through all these steps for a free code when almost every other company just says "hey it's free from x date to x date, just go to store page and download".

This is just self-promoting for marketing purposes in the future making money off your "free" purchase. Not to mention they probably are selling your data from signing up.

Just as bad as Creative Assembly's Total War Access crap. Making you go externally to download free things. Fortunately, they went away from that because it was overly complicated and caused issues.
