CD Projekt Red releases their first Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay video

Loved this. If the final release comes anywhere close to this and what it's promising it'll be an instant classic. Can't wait to see how it all turns out, this could be as close to my "perfect game" as we'll ever get.

Looks outstanding. Although the driving experience looks like it needs alot of work. Also when they are going for polish, I did notice one thing.

When the van overtook the car and the rear doors open before the firing began... looked to me like there was no animation on the door opening. It just flipped open like a logic switch. Would have been nice to see them swing. It's those minor details that make the game.

I watched this about an hour ago, it's actually blown my mind with how intricate and detailed this is. I can't imagine how they worked out proper crowd simulations on an RPG. Just mind blowing.

I hope it comes out next year, giving themselves as much time as they need to polish the game. I would wait for this even if it was another year added to that.

That was epic, Definitely a day 1 buy from me !

Same here! Although, last time they excluded rebinding to the arrow keys which I need because they think everyone is right handed. Emailed them for arrow key support and got this reply: buy a controller. Bit rude. Nah I'll get it in day one ha ha

Learn to use your right hand. Worked for me. ;) I "was" a leftie.

No need for lefty political comments please!!!!

Not gonna lie... Was pretty freaking awesome game play. More player choice and consequences than Witcher 3. That's an achievement.

I'm a leftie and rightie.. so I don't have an issue @TheF34RChannel;)

Looks cool. Reminds me of altered carbon/blade runner.

The 'chromatic abberation' is a bit full on for me, but I assume that will be an option to tone down. :)

It amazes me how you can notice those things. I thought it looked as it should and couldn't tell what special effects were turned on

I agree with you there. With some games, chromatic aberration is the first option I turn off. It is something that can be overdone in some games. I remember turning it off in Dying light whenever I played that.

Just shows that CDPR are good at producing a cohesive look. It does work well for them here, in a trailer with slow camera movements. Some games just throw it on for no good reason though.

It's good for cut scenes, but when used in gameplay, especially first person where the parallax is high, can be a bit too jarring for me. Same with OTT motion blur.

EDIT: I did notice a lot of TAA artefacting (ghosting and shimmering at distance) as well as low resolution shadow maps. This is good to see because it means what we saw here will probably be of equal if not better quality for release, rather than the other way around which is so common these days.

ITs funny you mentioned all of this. I was just thinking about a few visuals I always despise for its disgusting overuse.

Chromatic arberation
Depth of Field
Motion blue //worst one of all
Lens flare

When done in a subtle way they are good. But so many games seem to force it into our face now. Lens flare can be so over the top and heavy that it becomes unrealistic.

Seeing a scope reflect the sun from a few hundred yards away should not slap a lens flare the entire width of my screen.

but seeing the sun scatter a subtle lens flare across a picturesque lake while you sit on a hill looking down, is nicely done.

Reading most games get downgraded? Is it the make it look great to get people to buy it then reduce the quality so it runs better than a scripted trailer kinda thing?

Well they make it look as good as it can be for trailers/E3 etc but then they analyse performance and realise they can't make it run like this in frame rate within the time left to ship so they have to cut features.

Finally watched the whole thing and I want this badly. I'll get lost in exploring, trying different things and progress through the story slowly. Right up my alley!
