ok i have the a plan for a phase change systeam but i now need a protalbe case for the unit, i was thinking about makeing the case out of a frosted plexy glass like material and scoring it to make in look like the units case is made out of ice cubes

ideas? comments?

Unless you get super re-enforced plexy then it would break as phase is pretty heavy

what if it was like just a cover? have all the phase parts bolted down on some thing like a bord and then have the cover slip over that

Just brainstorming Lexan might work, it is bullet proof, but probably expensive.

ok now for the main case, yes i know my two cases wought match but still think it will look good. ok i am thinking of an 8 sided dimaond, or what ever the same is when you put 2 squair parimides to getter at there bases, i whant it look my clear have a metal fram the plexy glass will screw to and have some thing like the pics of 7 dealy sins eatched in the sides and the 8 side is where the the phase line gose throu. the bottom cornor will blutnted so it can stand up or it will fit in a pedistole so the case stays up. oh and i was thinking of having "...Hell has frozen over..." ingraved in the phase unit case with an LCD shoing the CPU temp under net it.

what do you think?

Sounds interesting, what are you going to do about the card brackets, and atx backplate?

strip down an old case and use it's? i think i might have to go with another idea because having to get the CD bays and motherbord back and card backs flush with the front/back of the case

statck that idea i will just drectly mount the bacents to the sides so the mother bord is going at the same angle as the side of the case, and i will mont the CD bays parella to the ground and have them inset

ok i don't think the 7 deadly sins are going to work all thou I might still use them i am now thinking about using Sant Machiale on the front and "The Dragon" on the side opp. of the tube intrents. i might have apha and omaga etheched on the tube side. i was thinking about haveing red fans along the bottom which on the front and back is mesh with fan monts, the top has been replaced with mesh and have a BIG blue fan like 120mm puting up and pullin air out of the case, and i will have green uv reactive wire shealts. On the phase case i was going to have 2 red fans one pushing air in and one pulling it out and have a red cat. on the in side to make the "ice" glow evil-ishly

ideas? comments? i have till march so i am just playing around with ideas here, the finnel might just be a genaric case but i hope not

Looks interesting, what about hard drive mounting? Also have you ever assemebled a computer?

for the the harddrive and cd bay mounts i was planing on using a hard clear plastic, i have watched one be put to getter =)

Ok also how big are you planning for this case to be? I am asking becaust it is a very unique shape and you will probably be left with a lot of unuasable space in corners.

i have no earthly idea ... realy i don't, how big do you think it would need to be to fit a dell motherbord from a 8400 and still have room to up grade in?

i have taken computers apart and put them back to gether but never from scrach if you will

Well be carefull of dell it probably doesn't conform to the atx standard, I would google for all the specs for atx and probably eatx if I were going to build a case.

It's definately no walk in the park, that's for sure.

You're better off buying something off the shelf and then modding the crap out of it. Chenming / Chieftec full tower cases are awesome and cheap for mod projects.

That is why I was asking so many questions, it is quite a proposition, and I didn't want you ending up with a whole bunch of trash, also Lian Li are very nice, but expensive.
