Ok i installed a VGA-VGA belkin cable, to see if it sorts out my flickering screen.

Well it did, but once i connected the cable, i cannot install monitor drivers, and if there already installed, there not when the cable goes in???

It says it cannot detect any monitor? Using the DVI-VGA adapter, and the cable.

Ive tryed 2 DVI-VGA adapters, and ive tryed both DVI ports on my 7800, same thing.

Shame.

I got some great advice, but you clearly don't want me to help you.

Don't take this the wrong way Grov mate, but here comes constructive comments regarding your conduct.

You have been less then thankful to some of the comments made to you that may or may not be helpful, in fact taking the time reading your posts, paying particular attention to those where you have replied to ones you don't agree with the comments even though all of the statements you attack have substantiated proof based on actual experiences.

I have found them to be aggressive, cussing and basically attacking (not discussing) the person that is either trying to help someone or just expressing a point of view - And that was from just reading the 'discussions'.

Are Mav's actions childish? of course, but read through some of the arguements you have started. Is it any wonder the guy dont want to help you? Ask yourself if you would feel the same?

Especially if wot the guy says does not fix your problem, wot will u say to him then?

I think in this case you have created your own rod - it's up to you to fix it or slide it gently into your own back.

With reference to your monitor problem - have you tried using a different DVI slot? Have you tried uninstalling the drivers using driver cleaner (or similar) an re-installing? Finally try using a different VGA card to see if the card is the problem or a complete re-install of windows (full format re-install that is).

Good luck, dont count on mav being your saviour though mate, maybe this issue will help you to be more mindful of what you are saying (or rather the way you say things) to people in future.

:(

Childish, not really Legend mate, I just prefer to help those that want my help.

Grov (on my ignor list) is not even close to being in that category - although its good advise you have provided, one of those suggestions could hold the key to th the real answer.

Of course the opportunity is here to just buy a new monitor, which is porbably easier faster and cheaper.
