You got all the wires in the right places; on the mobo and control board?

I had an issue with having to re-wire a USB cable to suit...

i have rewired the conection to suit the motherboard. its now set as it says in my first post.

where does the other end go? maybe i have that connected wrong?

On control board the USB cable should be aligned like:

From main ribbon connection: RED > WHITE > GREEN > BLACK > Spare Pin.

And then what ever you mobo has.

Here's a photo (I knew I had one somewhere!), the spare pin is closest to the camera lens, although it looks invisible in the photo...

my control board is positioned at the back of the chassis. the usb is furthest away from the side pannel. i can just make out the letters j2 and j4 in white on the circuit board. nearest those letters i have white then green, red,black.

is this wrong??

Sounds like you may have found your problem...

But sometimes the mobo is different, as long as they match up on the mobo correctly it'd be okay.

The colours I have shown (in above posts) identify what the pins are in their position on the control board:

RED = Power

WHITE = Data-

GREEN = Data+

BLACK = Ground

That's right, just edited my post (must have had a spasm when I was typing) Just make sure the correct pins match between the mobo and control board.The photo doesn't lie! Good luck, and let us know if you get it going! :D
