Hi people,

I was tidyin my room the other day and stumbled across my old faithful graphics card. It's a ATI Radeon HIS X1650XT IceQ Turbo 256mb DDR3 version so I decided to install it in vista ultimate 64bit and was amazed on jus how fast they still are!

It was even in the Origional box!

Managed to get a 5.9 Graphics score with 5.4 Gaming graphics!:D

Loves to play San andreas silky smooth with very high detail, 3xAA and full draw distance with a resolution at 1024x768.

Lets not talk about Crysis!:p

Gotta say i know its 4 years old now but fair duse HIS were a good force back in the day an are still very respectable now.

So finding this card got me thinkin and after some long thought ive decided to mix old skool with new skool hardware. Dont know to what extent yet but i know that im definatly buying another to run them in cross-fire:)

Anybody got any ideas/comments on specs i could merge with them to get a decent system at decent price?

Any other people got old skool graphics running on any rigs?

All comment welcome,

Thanks for viewing

over recent years GPU upgrades have not had any huge leaps (note the gtx250 which till performs "well"), but DirectX 11 will see a larger jump considering single GPU should beat this gens x2's handly.

i am still with 8600m.... hoping for summer upgrade

THe X1650XT was a pretty decent card in it's day. It would usually outpace a 7600GT by a fair margin :)
