Hey guys,

Probably a question that will seem dumb to most of you, but do you think that a dual monitor stand, with the monitors being on top of each other- like this:

JBA+-+Vertical+Screen+Setup+-+03+-+Ergotech+Vertical+Stand.jpg

Will be able to work on this desk?: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69054632/#/S29061192

Ie, that the desk won't break or anything?... Since the stand and all will weight about 27kg. And having all that weight on the back center of the desk and not evenly across the entire desk, I'm a bit worried here... If you guys get what I mean?.

Thanks,
Chrazey

One of the things you pay for with those super expensive sit/stand desks is the ability for it to take a decent weight. It looks like it has a lot of support under it, so I think it would be fine.

In the desks product info it states a maximum load of 70Kg. so two monitors should be fine.

Yes the desk should be able to handle the weight the only thing i would have done different i would try and find a clamp for that monitor stand.

I have the Galant Desk i'm using a east/west monitor stand only different is i'm using a clamp monitor stand

Yeah, I have the same thoughts...

Only that if you look closer in the pdf manual, it says 70Kg across the desk, and not centered like my monitors and stand would potentially be. That is my main concern.

What does that look like then?... Never really heard of an "east/west" stand before.

in other word left to right setup instead of up & down like yours, My monitor stand is not centered and mine holding fine

Just be careful not to slam the the fists down on it in a rage. I was on a streak in bf4 then run out of ammo and got wasted. Dropped a powerbomb. Damaged the junk out of it. Dont be like me

Ohhh... You mean like this yeah?:

Yes like that, But i don't have 2 of the same model monitors only the brand is the same until i change my monitors going to an ultrawide, If you have seen JayzTwoCents new setup with his X34 he doesn't have his centred his is now in the corner.

Damn dude, sorry to hear that. Luckily I don't game all that much anymore, plus I like standing a lot. Especially infont of PCs (since we have standing desks at one of my jobs).

Ahh yes, he has an monitor stand, with a clamp and an extended arm for his X34. But yes... Are you going for something similar to his setup?.

Yeah something similar but my Ultrawide is not going to be anything like a X34 that monitor is way out of my price range

So which one are you thinking about then?... As I'm currently going for my 27" Swift and an 24" BenQ on top.
Maybe thinking of going ASUS 34" down the line and then my Swift on top of it :p... Not sure yet.

I haven't really made up my mind yet on a 29 inch or 34 inch i have been looking at ASUS, Dell or LG, The cheapest 34 inch is LG but the 29 inch i have been looking at is a Dell still not sure as of this moment.

If you are worried about the desk having all the weight in one spot in wouldn't be that hard to get underneath and brace it for some extra strength

Ah my bad I was looking on my phone - it's actually a reflection of your blinds. It looked like that plastic they cover shiny things in when they ship them to prevent fingerprints.

Still, on what? :p... None of the pictures in this thread is off my monitors or setup.
