G'day Everyone just want to know how good 670's are for folding as the 580 I'm currently using is only on lone to me and I can't fold on it anymore.........just smacks himself on the back of the head for realising he can still fold with just the cpu for now duh!......anyway yes so how good are 670's as I might be able to buy one after the 21-07-12, also thinking about either the EVGA 670 2GB FTW or Palit Jetstream 2gb. So thanks in advance for any replies.

Cheers Ex.

Why are you to already folding on the CPU a the same time anyway?

But apparently at the moment the 670s aren't great, no specific work units to take advantage of them yet, so you would be better off getting fermi currently. But the 670s are bloody good cards so if you are planning on gaming too then I would definitely recommend one. And just hope they get more optimised later!

Because of the massive architecture change of the kepler series cards the 5xx cards are better than the 6xx cards at folding. Folding is not not fully optimized with the 6xx series cards yet.

Thanks maybe I can wait to get the folding architecture later as I game I want great performance for that too

Nice and how do you find the FTW as Im seriously looking at one
I really like the card a lot. It is powerful and a lot quieter then my other cards. Folding with the GPU at 99% for three days not and the card is hovering around 78 - 80 degrees C

The GTX580 pulls around that. From what I am seeing though the the GTX680 is averaging around 15k ppd. Unless they just recently optimized it?
Not sure. I was seeing some insane high PPD the other day. like 60K. It must have been a glitch or something. I am using the F@H V7

using my 670 i get 15-17k depending on the work units.
this is purely because the f@h client cores are not optimised yet, but i love my 670

Yup, tis an awesome card. When the optimised WU's arrive you should easily hit 27 - 30 K PPD with a 670 and a few thousand more with the 680.
