I'm stuck I wanted to play AvP 2 and the expansion primal hunt installed it on my windows 8.1 gaming rig and I hit into so many issues just wouldn't run no mater what I did. actually a few older games I have struggled to run under windows 8.1

So got me thinking should I build a new small itx rig for older gaming an emulation or buy a premade/bare bones system

The most demanding old game I own is actually command and conquer Generals.

I get the feeling I could get away with an I3 cpu and onboard hd graphics ???

Was looking at the intel nucs and gigabyte brix
or find the smallest itx case I can get my paws on and build my own.

I need your input on this one as I'm unsure

I do have a genuine key for windows 7 to play the games (no online needed for this pc)

How old exactly are these games? Cause I tried playing GTA SA and CoD2 on lowest settings 1080p on an i3 3225 once but I had to put them into 720p mode to run smooth.

I'll post a £250 build guide later today if you're interested :p

Ive got a shed full of old P4 and Pentium D stuff, few core 2 chips etc, Im sure others here have a few bit too, so why not try purpose a few old bits for this instead?
